“Should I include my dog in my engagement photos?” “What about including my dog in my wedding photos?” If you are asking this, then guess what? My answer is always, yes! I think including your dog in your engagement photos and even your wedding photos is a great idea! For so many couples, their dog is a big part of their love story.
Often a dog is a couple’s first “baby” and sometimes has even been a part of the proposal. There are tons of pet-friendly locations around the Dubuque, Bellevue, & Quad-Cities area that are also beautiful spots for engagement photos.
Dogs can even be honorary members of the wedding party! As for the wedding day, another bonus of having an outdoor wedding, you can bring the dog! Even when my couples have a wedding venue that doesn’t allow dogs, we can often still do photos in between the ceremony and reception with them.
Happy National Dog Day! Enjoy some of the most adorable fuzzy side-kicks ever in the images below. Leave a comment on which is your favorite furry friend! I’m sure their parents will love reading them. 🙂
8 times when Wisconsin & Iowa wedding couples learned that including your dog in engagement & wedding photos is a great idea.
1. Jett was totally grossed out about his Mom & Dad sharing a kiss. Bonus points because they dressed him in a dog tux & bowtie that matched the groomsmen. So cute!
2. Stella came along for her parents’ fall engagement session at the Bellevue State Park & totally stole the show.
3. Lola helped her Moms get ready for their outdoor Wisconsin wedding, and then got some snuggles in after their first look.4. Beau explored the beach at the Mines of Spain during his Mom & Dad’s engagement session. At 8 months old, it was his first time at the beach!
5. Ben was the most handsome groomsman for his parents’ outdoor wedding. He got so much attention from the Flower Girl and Ring Bearer, and plenty of belly rubs from the Bride & Groom. Ben was no stranger to the camera, since he was also included in Kathryn & David’s engagement session. Bently passed away just a couple of months ago, and I’m so happy that Kathryn & David made it such a point to include him in their engagement and wedding story. I’m sure those images will be treasured. 6. Remi went for a quick walk with Mom & Dad during their Fall engagement session at Bergfeld Pond, and also just happened to match the fall leaves perfectly. 7. Hank showed us his super-dog powers by balancing Mom’s engagement ring on his nose while at one of his favorite places, The Mines of Spain.8. Paisley made her second appearance in front of my camera during her Moms’ wedding at The Amana Festhalle Barn. She was also a part of the engagement session, and was obviously quite the pro by her second time around. Are you having an outdoor wedding with your furry friend in attendance?
