“I proposed to Kathryn at Pikes Peak State Park I remember just being so nervous and the drive which is only an hour, seemed to take forever. I used every excuse in the book to get her there and had to convince her we were going to Cabela’s for a one day only sale. Every turn we took I kept thinking are we there yet. Finally we arrived and I set up my go pro camera and read a short speech that I wrote so I wouldn’t lose my train of thought.” – Dave, on his proposal to Kathryn
Kathryn & Dave love to garden, cook, hike, & see concerts together. They also love their dog Ben. Although they first met at a bar Dave bartended at, their love story really began after a metal show at “Voices” in Dubuque. Kathryn said, “I actually spilt a beer on him – we have been together since!” I read this & loved it, because my husband & I first met at our workplace, but really connected at a metal show at “Voices” and have been together ever since as well! So don’t let it ever be said that you can’t find a solid husband at a local metal show! … Glad we cleared that up. 😉 After I read this & stalked her Pinterest wedding board I knew that yes, these are my people.
At their engagement session I got to meet Ben the dog, who was a total ham for my camera. Then Kathryn & Dave had a little picnic and wine date, even popped a bottle of bubbly! So fun! After a quick outfit change we took advantage of the very last bit of sunlight to shoot some romantic images of the two of them just hanging out & cuddling. What an awesome session! I can’t wait for Kathryn & David’s wedding this weekend!
