The Cubs had just won the world series, and at Vinny Vannuchi’s in Dubuque, a die-hard Cubs fan & a die-hard Cardinals fan sat down to a romantic dinner. It was the eve of Kelli & Ty’s fourth anniversary, and they were celebrating. Ty suggested they continue the celebration a couple of blocks down at 1st & Main, since his parents & a couple of their friends were there already. He just had to grab something from the car for Kelli first. He exited the car holding a gift bag & handed it to her saying, “I wish I could have gotten this for you sooner.” She reached into the bag & immediately said, “It’s a stupid Cubs T-shirt! I don’t want it!” As she gave it a little toss back in his direction, he got down on one knee, pulled out a ring, and said, “Well, what about this?”

We decided to kick off their engagement session at The Star Brewery in the Port of Dubuque, where they had their first date. Although Kelli left her Cubs World Series shirt at home, she sure did bring that beautiful new piece of bling. All the heart eyes for that gorgeous ring, which you can see a close-up of below. I can’t wait to celebrate along these two this Saturday at their Grand River Center wedding! Congratulations Ty & Kelli!

- Kelli: “I don’t know if there was a certain time or point but our relationship got stronger and better after we moved in together. After we lived together for a few months and everything was still good, I knew I could be with him for the rest of my life.”

- Kelli: “He likes control and I’m more laid back.”

- Kelli: “He may come across as being cold and not much of a relationship-type guy but he is actually very cuddly and lovable.”
- Ty: “She is legitimately allergic to the cold.”
With 2017 weddings in full swing & 2018 engagement sessions on the books, it’s such an exciting season!
