Before I show you the lovely photos from their engagement session, I’ve got to tell you their proposal story. Austin had gotten Lauren tickets to Wrigley field for a Thursday tour & a Friday game. The tour was coming to a close, and they got to go into the dugout & out onto the field. As they stood on the batting circle he took her by surprise by asking her to be his wife. He had even set it up ahead of time, so someone recorded the proposal on video. The next day they attended their first Cubs game as an engaged couple!
Lauren & Austin love the outdoors and their black lab Hank. We headed to the Mines of Spain for their Fall engagement session, along with Hank, of course. Hank even held the engagement ring on his nose for a photo. Scroll down to see it!
As their wedding day quickly approaches, they are both looking forward to the moment when they are first announced as husband and wife. I can’t wait to capture this moment & so many more on Saturday. Congratulations Lauren & Austin!

How did you know you wanted to spend forever with Lauren? “We had so much in common and shared so many interests and she accepted me for who I was. She became my best friend and I couldn’t stand being away from her.”
I knew I wanted to spend forever with Austin when… “The very first time I saw him. Our first date was so perfect and I knew at that moment that this was real. We had so much in common but also so many different hobbies that we have enjoyed sharing with each other.”
What is something you both have in common? L: “love for outdoors, love for our dog Hank” A: “We love to go fishing, our dog Hank”
Name something that is totally different about the two of you? L: “Our sense of style.” A: “I grew up hunting my whole life and she did not. She also grew up playing softball and i never played softball or baseball.”
What is a fun fact/something people might not guess about Austin? “Although he can be very serious about certain things, there are times where I just cannot stop laughing because he may be doing something funny, even if it is the dumbest things. He really lets his guard down around me and I think thats one of the things that I love most about him, and he can make me laugh on days where I don’t even want to smile. He is my person.”
Tell me a fun fact/something people might not guess about Lauren: “She is a world-class softball pitcher.”
What are your wedding colors? “Sky blue & gray, with a rustic theme.”
