When it was time for Kasie to buy her wedding dress, she found one on Pinterest. She immediately knew it was the one. That dress was what she’d be married in, no doubt. So she called around the Cedar Rapids area until she found someone who carried it. She made an appointment to go try it on. She looked in the mirror & was unwavering, this was it. She purchased it that day, NEVER trying on another dress. That dress was pure perfection on her, she wore it so well on her wedding day it looked like it was made for her. Was I surprised when I heard his story? Nope, because that’s my cousin Kasie, she never settles, and she knows exactly what she wants.
The same way she knew that was her dress, she knew Matt was her one and only. That’s something they have in common. They both are so steadfast in their love for each other, and it shows. It shows all over their faces, it’s in their body language, and it’s in their words. It was a pleasure to photograph their big day. It was amazing to witness them bring their families together and reinforce this amazing family unit that they have built. Congratulations you two!
Some of the wedding day highlights (for me):
- Kasie’s laugh – I think a bride is so beautiful when she laughs with her whole self, Kasie totally does this.
- The first look – Kasie literally started running to get to Matt because she was so excited. I’ve never had a bride run during a first look! So cute!
- The ceremony – It was totally personalized to them. My Mom officiated, & I happen to think she’s the best. 😉 At the end of the ceremony, they were so excited they didn’t even wait to be announced, they just ran back down the aisle.
- The dances – All of the formal dances were so filled with emotion & I LOVE that Matt & Kasie did father/daughter & mother/son dances with their little ones. It was the sweetest.
- The lip sync battle – Kasie vs Matt, Kasie did Beyonce’s Crazy in Love & Matt did Let It Go. It was AMAZING. I mean seriously, make sure you don’t miss this at the end of the post.
