Morgan + Alec
Morgan and Alec’s love story began with two right swipes, Alec’s first date invitation, and Morgan’s bravery in saying yes.
By all accounts, in the day leading up to her first date with Alec, she was nervous. This guy seemed great, what if it was too good to be true?
Thankfully, her BFF and sister stepped up and gave her encouragement. The kind that’s like, “Girl, you’re going, even if I have to drop you off myself!”
That first date at the Speedway turned out to be a first step to forever.
The Proposal
It was a cold, rainy December 16th — the kind of day where most people bail on plans.
Morgan even asked Alec if they were still going side-by-side riding with her parents, and he was like, “Yep, of course,” meanwhile trying to hide the giant ring box stuffed in his coat pocket.
They got to her parents’ house, picked Farley Bowling Alley for lunch, and headed out. Immediately, Morgan could tell something was off.
Alec asked her to choose the music (which he never does), went completely quiet, and kept tapping the steering wheel like he was trying to play it cool but absolutely was not. So she’s over there taking mental notes like, “Alright… what’s going on here?”
When her dad randomly turned into the Farley Speedway “to stretch his legs,” things got even more suspicious. Everyone hopped out, and while Morgan was chatting with her mom, Alec snuck behind the side-by-side to get into position — heart probably pounding out of his chest.
He called her over, and she walked around the back, where he was down on one knee. She said yes, of course… and the rest, as Morgan says, is history. ❤️
“A part of me felt missing when we weren’t together… He’s home. He’s my person.” – Morgan
Morgan & Alec’s Swiss Valley Dubuque Engagement Session
We got the best fall day for Morgan & Alec’s engagement session at the Swiss Valley Nature Preserve in Dubuque.
Morgan brought a couple of black-and-white checkered flags along. A nod to the fact that their first date and engagement both took place at the raceway.
Morgan has a degree in photography, and it’s such a compliment when a fellow photographer books me! Hopefully she doesn’t regret telling me that if I start rambling about how good the bokeh is in a photo, etc. 😂
Make sure to keep scrolling to read more about their love story! I always ask for 3 words they would use to describe the other. I love it when one of their words matches up. 🥹
