They met freshman year of high school, now it’s their wedding week!
When Lexie and Austin decided to spend a family vacation in Fort Myers, Florida, she had no idea it would end up being an unforgettable proposal story. Here’s how it all went down.
After a week of vacationing at Lexie’s parents’ townhouse, Austin planned a surprise proposal that was both sweet and personal. He arranged for family to help him set up a heart-shaped arrangement of rose petals on the beach, including his parents, who had flown in totally unbeknownst to Lexie. But the real magic happened during their sunset walk.
As they strolled along the shoreline, Lexie was completely unaware of what was about to unfold. Austin guided her to the heart-shaped roses, then got down on one knee and popped the question. It was a beautiful moment made even better by the fact that their family and friends were watching from the roof of a nearby building, capturing every moment with photos and videos.
To top it off, Austin had flown in four of their closest friends for the occasion. Though their flight was delayed, they made it in time to celebrate with the couple over the weekend.
Austin put so much thought into making his proposal a perfect blend of romance and surprise. It’s a great reminder that the best moments are often those shared with the people who matter most.

Lexie & Austin’s Lake MacBride Engagement Session in Solon, Iowa
When it came time to plan their engagement session, Lexie & Austin knew they wanted to include two things: the beach, and their fur-baby Pieper. I was immediately like, “Yessss please! That sounds adorable!”
However, I don’t think any of us (except maybe Pieper) knew just how funny & adorable the pup + water combo would be. I could not stop laughing. If the photos of Pieper living her best life in Lake MacBride don’t make you smile, you better check your pulse. (pro tip: We saved the best for last.)

What is something you both have in common?
Lexie: “We are both accountants.”
Austin: “Our love for the outdoors.”
What is something totally different about the two of you?
Lexie: “I am more outgoing. Austin enjoys hunting and fishing and I just like being on a beach.”
Austin: “Lexie is totally content with sitting in the sunshine all day with a drink in her hand. I’d rather be out doing something exciting.”
I cannot with this. 👇 😂 As I was taking the photo on the left, I turned around to see the view in the righthand photo. It was like, “I guess date night’s over. Pieper’s here to pick you two up.” 🤷♀️😂 Alternate caption: “Hop in bitches, we’re going to the beach.” 😂 
What is a fun fact/something people might not guess about your fiancé?
Lexie: “He likes to play guitar on his free time.”
Austin: “She does not fear confrontation at all.”
What part of the wedding are you looking forward to most?
Lexie: “Celebrating with the people we love most.”
Austin: “Celebrating with family and friends and my beautiful wife.”
I knew I wanted to spend forever with my love when…
Lexie: “When we were doing long distance and I wasn’t able to see him everyday. Made me miss him even more.”
Austin: “We picked up our beloved puppy Pieper. I saw how much love Lexie is able to share.”
Austin let’s her out of the truck and she is ready to gooooo! She sits nicely for a couple of photos… 
Then the stick is thrown into the water and it is PURE BLISS.

This little trio is so fun! I can’t wait for their wedding this Saturday at The Off Shore Resort in Bellevue! Think Pieper will be taking a little dip in the Mississippi this time? 😂 🤞
