Megan + Michael | dubuque iowa engagement session

July 21, 2016

It’s Throwback Thursday! I have so many wonderful couples & families from the past couple years that haven’t been shared! Be sure to check back here on Thursdays to see some of my favorites from 2014. 🙂

When it was time to plan Megan & Michael’s engagement session, I first wanted to learn about their love story. If you follow me for any period of time, or have worked with me before you know my main goal in my photography is to have it tell a story. For their engagement session we decided to incorporate places & activities from the beginning of their love story. That first date at an ice cream shop, and the second date strolling around Dubuque and checking out the overlook at Eagle Point Park. I don’t always take pieces of a couple’s story so literally, but in this case it really worked! It was great getting to know Megan & Michael on a more personal level, by the time their wedding rolled around, they really felt like friends to me. 🙂

I am very excited to spend the rest of my life with Michael.”

  • What is something that’s totally different about the two of you?
    • Megan: “I am more an external thinker and Michael is an internal thinker.”
    • Michael: “She enjoys working with people, I enjoy working with things and ideas.”
