Kaysha got ready for her wedding day at her Mom’s house, surrounded by family & friends. She laughed with her bridesmaids, skyped with her Dad, & received a beautiful vintage makeup compact from her Mom (her something old).
The forecast called for rain, but Kaysha wasn’t worried. She was just shining with excitement about celebrating this day with Tyler, their son Owen, and so many people they loved, and that loved them back.
Kaysha & Tyler had a first look under the tall industrial buildings of the Millwork District in downtown Dubuque. Just as we were finishing up their portraits together it started to sprinkle. We grabbed an umbrella from the back of my SUV. It started to pour down rain. We took cover and waited for the rain to slow, looked at the timeline and realized it had come at the perfect time. It was time to head to the ceremony! Due to the impending rain their ceremony at Stone Cliff Winery had been moved inside to the barrel room. Kaysha & Tyler’s hand written vows had everyone including me tearing up. They sealed those vows with a kiss as their sweet little Owen looked on. It was perfect. As we headed outside for family formals & bridal party portraits the sky was that perfect shade of blue with big puffy white clouds. The tented reception went off without a hitch. The guests danced the night away to a variety of songs, including The Hot Dog Song from Mickey Mouse Club House. Finally a song I know all the words to! 😉 Congrats to you both, Kaysha & Tyler. It was an honor getting to know you!
