Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning to dance in the rain.
I read this quote & it really resonated with me. It reminded me of this couple, their love story, & their journey to the altar. Jeanelle & Brian were married on a rainy day in July. It was only fitting that it rained on their day. Rain had played a part in their love story from the beginning. They first said I love you in the rain, had their first kiss in the rain, it was even rainy on their first date.
Besides the literal rain on their wedding day, there were definitely some of life’s storms that Jeanelle & Brian weathered together leading up to their big day. Brain’s Mom, Jill, passed away shortly before the wedding, very quickly & unexpectedly. It was an emotional day, and her presence could truly be felt through them, as well as their friends and family. Jeanelle’s bouquet had daisies to honor Jill, who had been a respected nurse. Brian danced with his Aunt as a tribute to his Mom. As the song progressed, women from his family and Jeanelle’s came and joined them on the dance floor. Tears were streaming down my face as I watched from behind my camera, and I know I wasn’t alone. I don’t think there was a dry eye in the entire place. The resulting images from that dance are some of the most powerful wedding images I’ve captured. The raw emotion and strength of Brian and the women closest to him was amazing to witness.
This wedding was tearful & beautiful, and I was honored to capture it. You can read a bit about the wedding day highlights in their words at the end of this blog post. <3
