Rachel + Isaac
Rachel & Isaac met during a church retreat while they were both Freshmen at Iowa State University. After a few weeks of studying together and building a friendship, they made it official.

During a Florida vacation, they were walking along the beach. Rachel was collecting seashells when she came upon a message in a bottle! The bottle contained a letter from Isaac, along with some sea shells and sand. So romantic! When she finished reading the letter, Isaac got down on one knee. As the sun set on the beach, he told her that she was his best friend and asked if she would marry him. A photographer captured the moment she said “yes.”

Rachel and Isaac told me their favorite date nights are playing board games together at home. When they do go out, they love to go hiking. We combined these two things for their engagement session, for a beautiful outdoor date night, complete with board games on a picnic blanket.

I knew I wanted to spend forever with my love when…
Rachel: “I realized I was the happiest when I was with Isaac and that he was the first person I wanted to talk to whenever something good or bad happened. I found that he was the one person I could be completely myself around. I knew when I realized that he is the one person in life that can truly make me feel at peace.”
Isaac: “When I realized she was my best friend and the first person I wanted to tell about anything. It wasn’t a specific day but a slow realization that she was my other half.”
What is something you both have in common?
Rachel: “When things get busy, there is nothing more that we enjoy than a nice night in just the two of us, either playing a board game or watching a movie.”
Isaac: “We are both Catholics who love board games and are both very competitive.”
What is something that’s totally different about the two of you?
Rachel: “Isaac is more free-spirited, whereas I am a worrier.”
Isaac: “She’s a Cubs fan, but I’m a Cardinals fan. (We have similar interests, except she roots for a bad baseball team.).”
What is a fun fact/something people might not guess about your fiancé?
Rachel: “Isaac is a HUGE Star Wars fan!”
Isaac: “That she makes the best cupcakes in the world.”
These two are so fun! I can’t wait for their wedding tomorrow at The Grand River Center in Dubuque, IA!
