Not quite a week has passed since Valentines Day, so not too late to share these right? 🙂 Every year I dress the kids up in their Valentines Day outfits & stick them on my bed for a little photo shoot. Anyone who knows me knows I love picking out outfits for the kiddos for holidays & photos. Holidays are a great chance to make a point to capture what the kids look like now & a little snippet of their personality. There is something I deeply love about comparing photos from past years to current ones, and holidays provide a great kind of mile marker for these type of images.
Last year my littlest was only 12 days old for Valentines Day, 11 days old for these photos. He snuggled up in my oldest’s arms, sleeping through most of the little photo shoot. He flashed a couple sleepy smiles & woke up when it was time for photos of him by himself. This year he’s a bubbly little one year old that was bursting with personality, singing his little heart out to the tune of Happy Birthday in his own perfect baby gibberish. What a gift to have a ticket back to these moments in the form of photos.
I picked up some heart shaped pillows from Target’s dollar spot last year to use as props and a size comparison next to my tiny newborn. This year those pillows provided endless entertainment, and never left my now one year old’s hands. Since I’ve done two years of Cole next to these pillows I’ll definitely be saving them for next year as well. The onesie Cole is wearing in this year’s photos is one I had made for his big brother’s first Valentines Day in 2014. Can you tell I’m a bit sentimental? 😉
