Brittany + Josh
New Year’s Day of 2021, a chance encounter at a bar in downtown Dubuque brought these two together. Whether it was fate or luck, they found their forever that night.
The Proposal
Josh’s Christmastime proposal was the perfect mix of sweet and sneaky. He and Brittany went out to their favorite spot, Copper Kettle, for dinner and then grabbed a couple of beers before heading home to exchange gifts.
Brittany had no clue that Josh had enlisted the help of her twin sister to choose the perfect engagement ring for her, and he had it in his pocket the whole night.
When it came time for presents, he gave her an iPad (a bonus from the jeweler) and then, just to throw her off, an exercise gadget she’d asked for. Brittany later admitted she was a little disappointed, thinking maybe that ring wasn’t happening.
But then Josh pulled out one last gift, dropped to one knee, and asked her to marry him. She said yes, of course, and they headed to her parents’ house to celebrate the big news. Honestly, such a perfect holiday story to look back on.
“The first time he hung out with my family, they liked (now love) him as much as I do!” – Brittany
Brittany & Josh’s Rural Lakeside Peosta Engagement Session
I had so much fun meeting Brittany, Josh, and their adorable Golden Retriever puppy, Raena. Raena is one year old and had me laughing so hard as she was running around trying to get her zoomies out. Toddlers, ammiright?!

Josh: “I knew I wanted to spend forever with Britt when she moved in with me and we became even closer.”

What is something you both have in common?
Josh: “We both enjoy sleeping in and relaxing on a rainy day. We also both love going on the river.”
Brittany: “We both have the same ideologies on what a relationship should be like, how to manage money. We are obsessed with our puppy, Raena. We both appreciate silence and don’t need to always be talking.”

What is something totally different about the two of you?
Josh: “I’m a little more detail-oriented and organized than she is.”
Brittany: “Josh is an amazing planner and loves to plan events/trips. I suck at it, haha. Josh is an absolute rule follower, needs to know every detail, and needs to read all instructions/reviews lol.”

What is a fun fact/something people might not guess about your fiancé?
Josh: “If you didn’t know her, you wouldn’t guess that she’s a police officer. Also, she has an identical twin.”
Brittany: “He loves Disney movies or puts on Animal Planet when he wants to take a nap.”

What part of the wedding are you looking forward to most?
Josh: “Looking forward to the reception and dancing with all of our family and friends.”
Brittany: “When we get to see each other for the first time. When we get officially introduced as husband and wife. And of course- the reception!”

Congratulations, Brittany and Josh! I can’t wait to celebrate with you two at The Grand River Center in Dubuque!
