Britney + Kaleb
Britney and Kaleb met online, and then totally hit it off during their first date. They went ax throwing, which sounds like such a fun idea for a date!
Fast forward to a family vacation in St Pete, Florida; Kaleb popped the question. When asked to recall the proposal, he said, “I panicked on a beach in Florida. Pretty sure I blacked out for a minute. Carried the ring all the way down there and was a nervous wreck the entire day. Proposal was a success though!!”
As nervous as Kaleb felt, he pulled it off flawlessly! When Britney tells the story, Kaleb being nervous doesn’t even play a part. She just remembers them walking on the beach, which is her favorite place; then getting to share the exciting news and celebrate it with their family and friends who were waiting back at the hotel bar.

These two share such an easiness together. To witness them together, it feels like they’ve known each other forever. Britney and Kaleb are a laid-back couple who love bonfires and going out on the Mississippi River. We decided to photograph their engagement session last fall at the Swiss Valley Nature Preserve in Dubuque, Iowa. It was perfect.

Britney: “It didn’t matter where I was or what we were doing, as long as we are together.”
Kaleb: “When everything we did together felt natural.”
What is something you both have in common?
Britney: “Family is everything to us.”
Kaleb: “Family is important.”
What is a fun fact/something people might not guess about your fiancé?
Britney: “He’s a good cook!”
Kaleb: “She hates when you leave time on the microwave.” 👈 Ohhh, I’m cosigning this, 100%. My husband can confirm. 😂
What is something totally different about the two of you?
Britney: “Kaleb loves dirt bikes and Motorsports and I am a huge Chicago Cubs fan.”
Kaleb: “One is a risk taker. One is risk averse.” 👈 Let me know if the comments which is which! Is Kaleb being cryptic, or is it super obvious who is who to anyone who knows them?? (I have a guess.)
Kaleb and Britney both speak so highly of their families and friends. One of the things I’m most excited for about tomorrow’s wedding is getting to see Britney and Kaleb in their element among the people that love them most. Then dancing the night away at Horizon Hall in Bellevue, which has been beautifully renovated!
