Jennifer + Jim
Jen’s sister and brother-in-law felt that Jim would be perfect for Jen. After a blind date watching some live music, though, Jim and Jen weren’t convinced. They both had their walls up at first. However, after a couple of months, they started dating and quickly fell in love.

Jennifer and Jim are both avid motorcycle riders and are both passionate about volunteering for causes that are important to them. Jim is a combat veteran, so that is a cause that is very near and dear to their hearts.
During a Combat Veterans motorcycle meet, the Commander pulled Jen up on stage to thank her for all of the work she’s done for Combat Vets. Then he asked Jim to come on stage as well. As soon as Jim stepped on stage, he dropped down on one knee and asked Jen to marry him, with all their friends looking on.

For their engagement session, we headed to one of their favorite spots in the Mines of Spain, the Julien Dubuque Monument and overlook of Dubuque.
Whenever it’s warm enough, you can catch these two out on the road on their Harley. So, of course, their engagement photos would not be complete without a motorcycle ride! That was a first for me, and super fun to shoot.
Their date nights usually end with Jim taking Jen out for ice cream at Dairy Queen. So we ended their engagement session the same way! They’re so sweet and insisted on getting me a smoothie after we wrapped up. If they ever need a third wheel for their date night ice cream trips, I volunteer. 😂

Jen: “He actually likes to help me with housework and does a pretty good job.”
Jim: “She loves to make me happy.”
These two are so fun! I can’t wait for their wedding this weekend at The Dubuque Arboretum and Botanical Gardens!
