Welcome to part 2 of Abby & Zack’s engagement session! If you haven’t seen part 1, check that out here. We were so excited to catch a beautiful sunset at the end of this session. These two suggested Lake MacBride, in Solon, Iowa, and I’m so glad they did! It was a gorgeous way to end their session. In fact, we got so many great shots, I thought it needed a separate blog post!
I told their proposal story in that last post, but just as a refresher, Zack proposed on the Riverwalk in Dubuque. They also had their first date there. So water has played a big part in the milestones of their relationship. We gave a nod to that with these sunset engagement photos.
{What do you like to do together, where do you like to go?}
Zack: “We love going to breweries together and trying different beer. Our current goal is to get a growler at each place.”
Abby: “We are mostly homebodies during the week. We go to work, and come home and make dinner and play with Otto in the backyard. Even on week days that we have off, we stay home unless we have to go out for errands. We bought our house over a year ago, and still are in love with it. We also like to take Otto for walks just around the neighborhood. He isn’t a great walker yet, so it can be exhausting sometimes. On the weekends, we are either doing something with our families, or we commonly hang with another couple trying new places to eat/drink beer. Big Grove Brewery is our favorite in the Iowa City area. If anyone comes to visit us, that is the first place we take them. ”
Abby: “I am most looking forward to having all our supporters together celebrating us for one night. Zack and I have been together for a long time, and I know he is the one that makes me happy. I was never one for a big wedding, but it is impossible with two sets of split parents, who come from large families. It will be great to have a meal, drink some beer, and dance the night away.”
Zack: “First dance. After an entire day celebrating us with everyone else, I can’t wait for that moment of just us for a couple minutes.”
