Devon + Ryan | dubuque iowa engagement session

It’s Throwback Thursday! I have so many wonderful couples & families from the past couple years that haven’t been shared! Be sure to check back here on Thursdays to see some of my favorites from 2014. 🙂

Devon & Ryan are such a fun couple! We planned their engagement session to incorporate some of the places that had meaning in their relationship. We started at the Millwork District in Dubuque, then moved to Eagle Point Park. It was so fun getting to know them before their big day. Engagement sessions are such a good time for me to hang out with my wedding couples for an hour or two and hear all about their upcoming wedding. 🙂

• I knew I wanted to spend forever with my love when…
  • Devon: “When i realized I could be 110% myself around him and he’d still love me. I don’t remember the exact moment or day, but i remember feeling safe and loved. Even through my stressful and down days, he is always there and knew how to make me smile.”
  • Ryan: “The first time I rode in her car, her music playlist had all my favorite bands which i didn’t think a girl like her would be into. But it really was when how much better she made me feel about myself, that i shouldn’t hide who I am. She loved me for me and that was all she needed.”
• What is something you both have in common?
  • Devon: “Taste in music and movies”

• What is something that’s totally different about the two of you?
  • Devon: “Ryan is carefree and laid back where i am detail oriented and hyper. We balance each other out.”
  • Ryan: “She’s more structured, and i like to go with the flow”
• What is a fun fact/something people might not guess about your fiancé?
  • Devon: “Although he likes to listen to rock and heavy music, he also enjoys Miley Cyrus, KE$HA, and Katey Perry. Sometimes when we are driving around and i’m having a bad day, he will sing along to the music and dance.”
  • Ryan: “She is a die-hard gamer where it had actually consumed most days.”
