It’s been so rainy out lately, my mind drifted back to this sweet session I did in October. Etta and Misha had matching raincoats and boots, and even though there wasn’t a puddle in sight on this dry fall day, that didn’t dampen the mood. <—- That whole dampen/dry thing was totally accidental, but I’ll just leave that there. 😉
We ran around with the big, clear umbrella. We kicked leaves, we discovered sticks. They snuggled up next to each other on my antique trunk, each one scooting a little closer to the other to claim their own space like sisters do. Etta put her arm around her little sister for a hug, maybe a little too tight. Pretty soon it turned into a tickle fight that Misha was certainly “losing”. This caused Etta to burst into a belly laugh, breaking the cycle of that dreaded “cheesey” smile every Mom of a 6 year old knows all too well. By the end of our session Etta decided she was done, so I decided to talk with Misha. I told her jokes only a 2 year old would appreciate, and was so happy to capture her giggles and scrunched up little face. I’m so inspired by her dark lashes and the way her wild curls bounce around her face.
I just love these girls. My favorite kind of child or family session starts & ends with playing. What a bonus I was able to bond with my little Goddaughters. <3
