Unpack Your Backpack Night {personal}

August 26, 2010

Last night we had “Unpack Your Backpack Night” at Alex’s school. This is basically just a time for her to check out her new classroom and talk with her teacher. It’s also supposed to be a time for the kids to unpack their backpacks, hence the name. The last minute Mom that I am, I’ll be picking up her supplies tonight after work. I am NOT ready for back to school, mentally I mean, not just the whole no supplies thing. I really like our summer schedule, getting to have lazy days together during the week. Plus, admittedly I’m sad that she’s getting bigger… she’ll be going to Transition Kindergarten this year. Honestly, I think I need the transition as much (if not more) than she does.

She is all ready to go, and decided to bring Lily, her giraffe, along for the ride.

My sweet baby girl 🙂Workin it for the camera.Blowing a kiss, I don’t tell her to do these things, I swear. She is quite the little model.She found her locker all by herself! My Mom couldn’t help but laugh because when she found her locker and pointed at it, she actually held that pose until she was sure I got a photo of it.And the tables have turned!Cute details in her new classroom.When she gave her new teacher, Miss Nikki a hug, she tackled the poor woman! I mean literally, tackled her almost to the ground. We had to explain that you can’t rough house with everyone the way you do with Tony… especially when they aren’t expecting it!
