Meagan & Nick were married in a morning ceremony at Emmaus Bible College. Meagan’s Dad officiated, and it was the perfect mix of tradition and humor. Nick dipped Meagan during the first kiss, causing their guests to cheer, and me to do a little happy dance from behind my camera. Be sure to check out those images below!
There was rain in the forecast but it was a perfectly mild morning. As we stood outside preparing for family formals, we heard a rumble.
“Was that thunder?” Meagan asked me.
“No, it was something moving over there by those buildings.” I answered quickly.
“OK…” She said apprehensively. Then another rumble.
“OK, that’s thunder. You were right.” I conceited. (She thought I was just trying to make her feel better before but I actually hadn’t realized it was thunder! haha) We decided to have a few people standing by with umbrellas just in case.
So we went through the family formal list, getting all of the groupings we had decided on. Quick & painless is my motto for these! Seconds after we finished the last grouping on the list it started to downpour. Not rain… downpour, monsoon, seriously… so much rain! Meagan & Nick were swept away under cover of umbrellas into the waiting trolley. Perfect timing!
As we reached the Grand River Center for their reception the rain had completely stopped. The sky was beautiful and the riverwalk was vacant of the usual groups of people walking/catching Pokemon. 😉 We took advantage of that and got some wedding party & bride and groom photos before we headed inside for the reception.
There was great food & conversation between guests that had traveled across the country to support Meagan & Nick. The wedding reception featured touches of purple, hand drawn calligraphy love quotes (done by Meagan), & stacks of classic books.
After the reception ended the happy couple made their grand exit, high-fiving guests as they went. Nick is known for his high fives, and this was the best note to end on. Brides & Grooms, I highly recommend the high five exit, good stuff! Congratulations Meagan & Nick!
