On Tuesday I had the pleasure of photographing a family who’s very special to me. I’ve been friends with Michelle since we were 5 years old. She is my daughter’s Godmother, and her daughter Julietta is my God-baby. Through moves and changes throughout our lives, we’ve remained friends. By now, she’s family, my 4th sister.
So naturally I was psyched to be able to photograph my extended family, for the first time since Julietta was a newborn. She’s 9 months old now and full of personality.
We headed over to the arboretum to take advantage of the great weather that day. I think my little Etta Bear thought we were at a buffet. She must have tried to eat every tree and flower we came near. In her defense, the pink flowers growing on the tree did smell like PEZ candies. This was pointed out by my lovely assistant Liz. By the way, thanks so much for your help Liz, it was much appreciated!

This is probably my favorite series of images from the day. I love the beautiful interaction between Mommy & baby.
I absolutely love the face she’s making, so funny! I think I saw Daddy making that same face at lunch the day before this.
