The couple you are about to “meet” is awesome, I mean really awesome. I had been talking to Katie online about her wedding plans for awhile before I finally got to meet her last Saturday. They live out of town, so a face to face meeting before this wasn’t possible. Let me tell you, it was worth waiting for! These two were so fun, so laid back, and up for anything. If there’s an opposite of a bridezilla, that’s what Katie is. 🙂
Adam & Katie are getting married October 9 of this year, in Centerville, Iowa. If their engagement shoot was any kind of indicator (which I think it is) it’s going to be a wonderful day.
So they drove to Dubuque with their 2 “kids”, Fannie Mae (an English Bulldog) and Faggan Michael (a Pug). As soon as Katie told me she wanted to bring her dogs I knew this shoot was going to be fun. {2 awesome people + 2 cute dogs = 1 amazing photo shoot with lots of personality}
I even got to meet Adam’s parents DJ & Tracey. You guessed it, they were great. I was really happy to have Tracey’s help during the shots with the dogs. I started calling her the dog whisperer, because all she had to do was talk and they would stop and look right at her. I have this sneaking feeling that when Adam and Katie have kids they’re going to be spoiled in a big way.
Another fun tidbit about this bunch, Fannie Mae helped Adam propose to Katie. They tied a big bow around her neck, with a note that said, “Mommy, Daddy has a question.” Then Adam got down on one knee! I love that story, it was so sweet when Katie told it I almost cried. There may be tears during the wedding, just fair warning. Also cool, Katie got engaged on December 17 of last year, which is same day I got engaged. We were meant to be, wedding photographer & bride. 🙂

This shot is priceless, they both look so sad! It’s hard not being the center of attention, I think Faggan is actually frowning.
